there are a few rules you must abide to before you're admitted into the ring and while you're a member.

  • first and foremost, you must be male. period. and i need "proof". there needs to be something on your site that says you are a male. with a penis. and testicles.
  • content is key. your site needs to be personal and have some sort of creative content (i.e. a journal, artwork, poems, etc.) as the driving force behind it.
  • you don't have to be a professional graphic designer, but your site must be pleasing to the eyes. no fuschia text on yellow backgrounds or the like.
  • there is no minimum age requirement, but please have some semblance of maturity.
  • please, no WrItInG lIkE tHiS or l1k3 th1s or ALL IN CAPS unless it serves a specific purpose and is minimal. same goes for not spelling out words in their entirity (i.e. "u", "2", "4", "r", etc). i really can't stand that stuff... and it's my ring anyway.
  • no porn. art is one thing... but "hot lolita teen sex" and the like are forbidden.
  • no racist, homophobic, sexist biggots [ or any combination thereof, including their reversal equivalents ].
  • pop-ups aren't forbidden, but they are slightly frowned upon.
  • your site needs to be updated on a semi-regular basis. no dead sites... i mean, you gotta like your site.
  • the ring code must be easy to find. you're the one joining the ring so there should be some semblance of pride, for lack of a better word. [note] there's now a place in the join form for you to put the url of the page where the code will go. use it.
  • if you move your blog, change your listing at ringsurf. dead links will be deleted.
  • this ring is getting to big for me to check up on everyone. if I check the ring, and the code is missing, you'll be deleted.
  • finally, you must meet all the requirements at all times. sounds fair to me.

and if your site doesn't get admitted, don't go kill yourself. it isn't a judgement on you as a person. take another crack at it. add more content. work on a new layout. you do have more than one chance to get in, you know. same if you've been deleted. fix your site to comply with the requirements, resubmit, and be patient.
